Childbirth and the natural aging process cause changes which may affect feminine health. A particularly strenuous vaginal childbirth or multiple births can cause stretching of the vagina. The effects of menopause can also cause physical and functional changes, such as excessive dryness. In an international survey of 563 obstetrician gynecologists, 84% of responders believe vaginal laxity is underreported by their patients, and 95% felt that vaginal laxity impacts their patients’ sexual functioning.
ThermiVa® is a treatment that uses temperature controlled radiofrequency to stimulate collagen, improving vaginal laxity.
The treatment requires no anesthesia with little to no discomfort and no downtime. ThermiVa® treatment delivers energy to the desired areas external (labia) and/or internal (vagina) to restore women’s intimate health.
How it works
Clinical studies show that the collagen in tissue will shrink when heated to sustained temperatures in excess of 40°C.
It has been shown that when the tissue is heated to this level, an inflammatory process is engaged which can stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen over a period of time increasing vascularity and blood flow.
Thermi multi-center clinical study of 65 patients
Subject reported data was collected using Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire (SSQ) and Vaginal Laxity Questionnaire (VLQ). For each graph reporting SSQ and VLQ data; on the x axis 0 equals baseline. In the multi-site clinical trial, greater than 93% of women treated reported improvement in vaginal laxity; and subject reported statistically and clinically significant improvement in sexual functioning during the study follow up period.
